Truck Attack in Stockholm

Around 3:00 p.m. local time, an individual drove a stolen truck into a crowd of people in the Drottninggatan area of Stockholm, Sweden, killing at least three people. One suspect is in custody. Swedish law enforcement are requesting that citizens avoid the downtown area, and the metro has been suspended as well. Shots have also reportedly been fired in another part of the city but it is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.

At this time, IFSA-Butler has no known travelers to Stockholm. Our resident staff have sent messaging to students reviewing safety information. As no students have indicated that they are currently traveling in Sweden, we will not be launching a full scale search at this time.
