IFSA-Butler Programs in Chile at Top of University Rankings

IFSA-Butler's affiliated universities in Chile are at the top of the rankings in the country, according to a study released this week. América Economía reviewed faculty research, publications, number of doctorate professors and the infrastructure of Chile's 59 universities and announced the following rankings:

Universidad de Chile—ranked #1
Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile—ranked #2
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso—ranked #5
Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María—ranked #6

NEW! Summer Study in Peru

IFSA-Butler is delighted to announce a new summer option in Peru. The Community Building and Sustainable Development in Peru program takes place in three terrific locations, Lima, Piura and Moyobamba, all of which give students a diverse perspective of Peru's culture and ecology. This six-week program requires four semesters of college-level Spanish or equivalent.

2013 Boren Awards Application Available

Applications for the 2013-2014 David L. Boren Scholarships and Fellowships are now available online. Boren Awards provide scholarships for study abroad in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Undergraduate students can receive up to $20,000 for an academic year study abroad experience. In exchange for funding, recipients commit to working in the federal government for a minimum of one year.

The application deadline is February 13, 2013, though some U.S. colleges and universities may have an earlier deadline. For more information about the Boren Awards, visit www.borenawards.org. You can also contact the Boren Awards staff at boren@iie.org or 800-618-NSEP.
