Studying abroad in: Australia Host University: Griffith University Gold Coast U.S. University: Iowa State University Major: Advertising and Marketing Year: Junior
What’s It Really Like?
Each semester IFSA-Butler students chronicle their adventures and experiences as they live and study in different countries. Read a firsthand perspective of how cultural and educational differences shape their journey.
I’ve never been good at verbally showing my emotions but rather showing them. So I though I’d show you how I feel, the best way I know how. By showing you through a video.
The concept of this video was that all my videos before have focused on all the action shots and places I’ve been. But studying abroad isn’t really about that. It’s about All the Faces you’ve seen. All the people you’ve met and I think this video captures that message perfectly.
I’ll also know if there are any fans of The Office out there!
A lot of my other videos besides the pool party one have been about different trips I’ve taken. So for this video I figure I’d show you a little of what I’ve been up to on the Gold Coast! This wonderful place that I call home (for around 2 more months).
The week before class starts is known as O-Week or Orientation week, because all the first years or international students are just getting here and have orientation to go to. The Village has different O-Week events to help you meet people around the village and are heaps of fun. This was one of the best days and it was the Village Pool Party. They brought in a DJ and everyone chilled by the pool all day until they had buses come and pick us up to bring us to the clubs. Lets just say it was pretty legendary.
A little video I made of clips I had saved up and some new ones. I hope to make this a 2 or 3 parts series but the next two parts won’t come out until March once I’m actually in Gold Coast and have some clips saved up. The next video will most likely be of my trip to Sydney! If you enjoyed please subscribe to me on YouTube!
