Lauren has won a Diamond Research Scholars grant from Temple University to begin a research project starting in the summer and continuing during the fall semester. Lauren will be examining why and how traditional media sensationalized information about the 2011 student protests, while students depended on social media to help the movement grow and to engage supporters.

Lauren's research was featured on the This is Chile website. Read the article.

Brian, a senior chemistry major from DePauw University, has won a full scholarship to Indiana University's PhD program in chemistry. As a chemistry major, he said it was a risk for him to study abroad and be able to finish all of his degree requirements, but that he is glad he decided to have an experience that most chemistry majors don't have. Congratulations Brian!
