Viviana Vasquez, Valparaíso Resident Director
- WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING A RESIDENT DIRECTOR?
- The opportunity this job gives me to be in touch with young, energetic people, full of dreams and projects.
- WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING STUDENTS LEARN IN VALPARAISO?
- Patience and an appreciation for cultural differences.
- HOW DID YOU FIRST BECOME INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH U.S. COLLEGE STUDENTS?
- I went to the U.S. to teach Spanish and Chilean culture to college students with the intention of improving my English. I barely practiced the language because I was teaching Spanish and having conversations in classes all day. However, I had such a wonderful experience and such a great connection with the students that it was all worth it.
