What the Political Economy of the Middle East concentration has to offer
• Hosted at the oldest public secular university in Egypt with alumni from Egypt's political, professional and cultural elite
• Located in the iconic neighborhood of Giza, home to the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx
• A great choice for students from any major who are interested in international relations, economics, political science, sociology/anthropology, statistics or pre-law
• No prior study of Arabic language required

Housing
• Choose between living with a host family or in an IFSA-Butlerstudent apartment (the number of available host families is limited)
• Host families provide most meals, while students living in apartments prepare their own meals

Academics
• Curriculum combines languages courses, concentration program courses, and elective university courses
• Study in the Faculty of Economics and Political Science
• University course are taught in English and are open to Egyptian students
• Program affiliation with the Center for Foreign Languages and Professional Translation

Curriculum
• Arabic language (Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Egyptian, required)
• Economics of Egypt and the Middle East (core course)
• The Egyptian Political System (core course)

• Political Theory
• Politics of Development
• Contemporary International Issues
• Demography
