England Universities Program
Arrival and orientation
- Airport pick-up for group flight travelers
- 2- to 4-day orientation in London for semester/year students: Includes transportation, accommodation, activities and most meals
- Introduction to British culture
- Discussion of academic differences and expectations
- IFSA-Butler staff walk students through everything from how to succeed academically to integrating socially in the host university
- Welcome meal
- Transportation to host university accommodation at conclusion of orientation
Cultural events
- Theatre evening
- Visits to historic and popular sites. Past locations have included Roman Bath, Hampton Court, Hever Castle, Warwick Castle, Salisbury and Ely Cathedrals, Blenheim Palace, Brighton Royal Pavilion, Stonehenge, Windsor Castle
Excursions
- London weekend for students living outside London: Includes a Thames boat cruise with meal, karaoke night, sightseeing.
- Lake District (northwest England) outdoor adventure weekend for London students: Includes mountain biking, gorge scrambling, canoeing, hill walking, abseiling, Viking boat sailing, night walk.
- 2 day trips per semester for London students, or outside of London students who make their way to the London office for the trip. Past trips have included Brighton, Oxford, Salisbury, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Canterbury, Cambridge and Windsor
- Optional weekend visit with a British family
Other activities
- Evening meals with London students
- Lunches with students studying outside of London
- Thanksgiving meal (fall semester)
