Fill the GAP participants will receive a student account and an online account page to which they may deposit money. Friends and family can also contribute to the account. Best of all, IFSA-Butler will match a student's contributions with a scholarship of up to $1,000. The scholarship will be awarded based on what is saved as of 120 days before departure, and can be used for participation on any IFSA-Butler program. Students interested in taking part in Fill the GAP must be enrolled at an accredited undergraduate institution and submit a pre-application, including their personal contact information, parent information and anticipated study abroad semester/year. Students will be given a URL and other contact information to pass along to friends and family so that they can contribute directly to the student's GAP account. The GAP account will accept payment from debit and credit cards. There is no limit to the amount of money that can be donated to the account. Once a student has been accepted to an IFSA-Butler program, his or her GAP account, as well as the IFSA-Butler scholarship, will be applied in the following order:
Fill the GAP funds cannot be used for:
IFSA-Butler will create an account for each participant and will document the names of contributors and their donations. In the event that a student is unable to study abroad through IFSA-Butler, we will refund donations to individual contributors. Click here to download the Fill the GAP enrollment form.
