In 2005, we expanded our efforts to solicit feedback about our services from IFSA-Butler students. We hired consultants from Indiana Youth Institute to assist us with developing an outcomes-based evaluation plan. This online system replaced our paper surveys with the start of the 2005-2006 academic year.

Semester and year students are sent links to the three surveys by email.

• Pre-Departure Survey: 1-2 weeks prior to departure
• In-Country Survey: approximately four weeks after the on-site orientation
• Post-Study Survey: 1-2 weeks after the program end date

Summer students only receive the Pre-Departure and Post-Study surveys due to the shortened length of their programs. Students are asked a few different questions about language immersion, orientation, academics, and housing based on whether they studied abroad in an English-speaking country.
