Required GPA: Length of opportunity: Credits: Program advisor: The Heredia Intermediate program is designed to not only help students improve their Spanish skills, but to also provide a unique opportunity for students to become personally involved in their host culture through volunteer work. A service learning component is integrated into the mandatory Intermediate Spanish course, which carries a total of 6 U.S. semester credit hours. After an informational workshop, students will select from a variety of community organizations in the Heredia/San José area with which they will volunteer for the semester. Students will work at least two hours per week with organizations such as:
