Student Life
For academic excellence in a beautiful South Island city, take a look at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. This university of 12,500 has an international reputation for excellent teaching.
In addition to great academics, you'll find an active student body participating in more than 110 clubs and societies. Campus amenities include concerts and performances at the Ngaio Marsh and Court Theatres, sports facilities and a health center, pubs, and restaurants. If you want to head into the city, the Christchurch city center is just fifteen minutes away.
Housing
IFSA-Butler students live in student flats in a housing complex within walking distance of the campus. Housing is self-catered, but if you get tired of cooking for yourself, you'll find plenty of bars and cafeterias on campus and in nearby shopping centers. Because most students live on or near campus, the university has a lively social scene, with barbeques, dinners, and sports events held throughout the year.
Courses
Canterbury's excellent academic reputation really shines in the areas of fine arts, commerce, music, forestry, science, and engineering. The university also boasts outstanding speech therapy and language departments.
