Arrival and orientation
• 10-day on-site orientation
• Airport pick up for group flight travelers
• Transportation to host family and most meals provided
• Special welcome meal
• Informational meetings and program materials: Introduction to Spain and Málaga, health and safety, academic information, living with a host family and program handbook.
• Guided tour of Málaga
• Tour of UMA campus
• Intensive Spanish course
• One day trip to the following:

  • Nerja and Frigiliana (fall semester)
  • Ronda (spring semester)

Excursions
• Fall Semester

  1. 3-day trip to Madrid: City tour, museum visit, royal palace and gardens, local markets
  2. 2-day trip to Granada: City tour, cathedral tour, visit to thermal baths, trip to Sierra Nevada mountains,  winter sports activities.
• Spring Semester
  1. 3-day trip to Tarifa: Visit natural parks, city castle, boat trip, whale watching and visit to the Straights of Gibraltar.
  2. 2-day trip to Sevilla: City tour, museum visit, gardens, flamenco show and Roman city "Italica."

*Days and locations of excursions are subject to change. Activities are also subject to change due to availability.

**These events are a part of the program course "Spain Yesterday and Today," and they are open to all program participants.
