IFSA-Butler works closely with its partner institutions around the world to ensure that students receive admissions decisions within a reasonable timeframe. Many of the host institutions where IFSA-Butler has programs have agreed to participate in our Rapid Response program, in which the universities commit to making quick admissions decisions for students who meet the minimum academic requirements. This program includes Rapid Response and Instant Response universities.

Rapid Response universities have agreed to make admissions decisions within ten days of receiving a student's completed application and supporting materials. Instant Response universities have agreed to make admissions decisions within five days of receiving a student's completed application and supporting materials.

For all programs in Latin America and Spain, students are typically notified of the selection committee’s decision within two weeks of the date that the application becomes complete. However, occasionally acceptance to Latin American and Spain programs may take up to three weeks in cases when IFSA-Butler staff must contact professors to assess a student’s Spanish language abilities.
