Housing
• IFSA-Butler arranges housing with a carefully selected host family
• IFSA-Butler program fee includes three meals per day

Academics
• Students take a Spanish language course
• Choose four courses in addition to the Spanish language course
• Students take a total of 15-16 U.S. semester credit hours
• Courses are taught in Spanish by university faculty
• Courses aredesigned specifically for IFSA-Butler participants onthe Valparaíso Intermediate program are not integrated with regular university curriculum

Service learning
Students can earn an additional 1 U.S. semester credit hour by participating in a service learning project as part of the mandatory Spanish language course. The service learning project lasts throughout the semester.
