Welcome to the first post of this blog. My name is Anna, and I will be spending the next few months studying English Literature at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with you.
When people have asked me why I chose the University of Edinburgh as my study abroad destination, I’ve never quite known what to say. To be honest, I don’t even remember my thought process when choosing this program, but I think it was partly based on the fact that I really only speak English. However, it definitely does go beyond that. I was looking at the United Kingdom, and something just drew me to Edinburgh. It’s a smaller and more manageable city than London, but no less exciting, and I’m really looking forward to exploring it and calling it my home, even if it’s just for a few months. There are tons of places I want to see and things I want to do, and I’m ready to just take it all in. At this point I’ve basically finished packing, I’ve gotten all the necessary documents and paperwork in order, I’ve started to say my goodbyes to my friends and family, and in terms of the logistics I’m prepared to leave. I mean I’m just ready in general, but the nerves that I’ve been warned about are starting to set in.
