It has been a very long trip but I am finally here! There has been excitement, stress, and exhaustion. All of this was worth it. I have made so many friends and can not wait to make many more.
The first day in New Zealand was spent at the YMCA Shakespear Lodge. The IFSA-Butler group drove through Auckland and arrived at the lodge in time for morning tea. After settling in a bit, many of us went for a wander to explore the beautiful acreage that was around us. It was absolutely breathe taking; the first lambs of the season, endless hills, and furry piggies.
The next few days were filled with activities like mountain biking, mtn. boarding, kayaking, etc. There was just so much to do that some of us decided to just sit back and watch all the excitement happen. Only a few days here and I already didn’t want to leave.
By far my favorite thing was visiting the Marae. It was perhaps the most fascinating cultural event. It was filled with information and excitement.
Now I am on campus and waiting to start some sort of routine. I apologize for the broadness but I am still a bit jet lagged! I will be much more excitable once I start a routine! (Keep an eye out for pictures)
