Five days until Spain!
I am in absolute utter shock to realize that I leave on Monday. 5 days. 120 hours. 7,200 minutes. 432,000 seconds. As you can tell, I am inexpressively excited.
I have been nothing more but enamored with the ideas of exploring Barcelona, getting to know the people that I meet along the way, becoming more culturally aware, seeing what the nightlife has to offer, working for an internship with International Policy Group, and learning Spanish (because as of now, I have taken beginner Spanish six years ago… so I am basically fluent).
I know I will get lost on the streets and the metro. I know I will be that American that will expect people to talk to me in English, or basic Spanish. I know I will that American with a million questions, striving for self-sufficiency, but never quite making it. However, I will also be that American who has the time of her life, that American who will make such good friends with fellow travelers because of the unique shared experiences, and that American who will never let a language barrier get in the way of exploring.
I haven’t started packing yet, but am definitely ready to face any obstacles and adventures that await for me overseas!
