Irish Everyone Would Visit Ireland
When choosing a place to study abroad, I didn’t look in depth. I looked for English speaking and in Europe, and when London and Ireland were my top two, I chose Ireland because of family history. Little did I know the experience I would get from being in Ireland.
Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland combined are about the size of Indiana!!! Shocked? I was too. But little did I know I could travel all around Ireland and love every city more than the next. Impartial, Galway is my favorite, but here are some of the great cities I visited this semester, whether for a day or weekend, each adventure was amazing.
St. Nicolas' Collegiate Church in Galway
Lynch's Castle in Galway. It has now been turned into an AIB Bank but it was a castle built for one of the twelve founding families of Galway.
The main streets of Kilkenny, Ireland, which was part of an IFSA-Butler excursion.
Ireland is not complete without watching at least one Gaelic Football game! -Galway
Horses are a girls best friend, especially when they're all over Ireland.
Trinity College, Dublin has a beautiful campus and IFSA Butler sends students there, too!
The Claddagh ring originated in Galway and there is still a store that sells the original rings!
Connemara is a National Park that is in County Galway. It is beautiful to walk through, hike, and even pack a picnic!!!
Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland was part of an IFSA excursion, too!
The beautiful skyline in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The city of Cork, Ireland from across the bridge. All lit up at night.
Kissing The Blarney Stone at the Blarney Castle outside of Cork.
I spent a day in Limerick, Ireland, but the majority of the day was spent at the Milk Market with a fully belly!
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Ireland is such an experience to walk through the roads of Galway with lots of green!
Getting tea down by the water in Galway is an Irish must. The jam with the scones was amazing!
The waterfront in Galway under the Spanish Arch. The best place to sit during good weather in Galway.
Playing hurling in Kilkenny is the best way to see the city!
Spring time in Ireland is amazing! January and February contained a lot of rain, but it's looking up :)
St. Stephen's Green in Dublin is full of flowers and GREEN!
The Temple Bar in Dublin is a top-sight in all of Ireland!
And the other top sight in Dublin is the Guinness Factory where you can tour and have a pint!
The NUIG Quad is my favorite part of going to school at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
The Cliffs of Moher, in County Clare, are not far from Galway, and only a bus from Dublin!
My favorite picture from this semester at Connemara National Park in Galway :)
