Superhaka for Christchurch

A few weeks ago, I went to the Octagon to participate in a nationwide superhaka, which took place in four cities as a fundraiser and message of support for Christchurch.  We did the haka of the Ngai Tahu iwi, which is the major iwi (tribe) of the South Island. The words translate to:

Christchurch, Rise up! Rise up! This is the morepark (owl) who calls, Whose head does not toss from side to side, nor up and down.  The head of the morepark is steadfast on its shoulders, as it calls us from the darkness and into the world of light. Christchurch, be strong!

Here is the video from the news that night, you can see me!!  I’m only there for a second, and I’m way in the back so it’s hard to tell that it’s me, but I am there!
