New Zealand!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to start my semester in New Zealand! I wish I could say I’m all packed and ready to go but unfortunately I’m only about halfway through packing. Maybe that’s the reason I feel a little bit apprehensive about the whole thing. Don’t get me wrong; I would not change anything. I am just a little stressed and not looking forward to the packing and the really really long day of flying and waiting in airports. But it will be SO worth it and I know it! I am determined to make this experience amazing no matter what happens. And it will be all by itself without me trying. :)

So here’s the plan: My flight leaves from Cleveland at 8:30 am on Friday and goes to Chicago. 2 hour wait then to LAX. 7.5 hour wait (UGH!) then I leave LAX for Auckland at 10 pm LA time which is 1 am Cleveland time (so that’s what it will feel like to me). 13 hours then I will arrive in Auckland for orientation! I think it will be 5 am the next day (the 19th – i skip the 18th and never live it!) when I arrive in Auckland. NZ is 18 hours ahead of Cleveland right now just for reference.

I’m am beyond excited to be going to what has been called the most beautiful country on the planet. I am such a nature lover and I make sure to look at the sky every night just to see how beautiful it is. I know I will be so blown away by NZ landscape and I CAN’T WAIT! New Zealand is also the adventure capitol of the world which is perfect for my adventurous spirit. I love being outdoors and getting to do activities outside. I love hiking, camping, kayaking, and playing sports! I can’t wait to get started on the adventure. This is a dream come true and I feel so blessed for the opportunity. It makes it that much better to know I have earned it. I have worked so hard both in school and with jobs and I am proud that I am able to pay for this opportunity all on my own. I can’t wait to update everyone on my adventures once I get there!
