Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA) seeks a dynamic, innovative educator to join our team as Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). This position provides a unique opportunity to shape an evolving organization and the long-term impact of education abroad on participants.

The VPAA provides academic leadership for IFSA by: overseeing the academic quality of programs; overseeing the development, assessment, and improvement of IFSA-taught curricula; developing and ensuring adherence to academic policies and procedures; and liaising with sending and host institutions. The VPAA provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of short- and long-term departmental goals that align with the organization’s strategic vision, including its commitments to diversity and inclusion, intercultural learning, and enhancing the outcomes of education abroad experiences. The VPAA reports to the President and CEO and serves on the executive leadership team. This position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Advanced/terminal degree
  • Experience working with and/or teaching postsecondary education students
  • Experience working with faculty
  • Curriculum development experience
  • At least five years of supervisory or leadership experience

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of the U.S. educational system and degree plans, knowledge of educational systems worldwide
  • Familiarity with study abroad for U.S. undergraduate students
  • Proficiency with teaching and learning strategies, familiarity with academic advising strategies
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders from diverse communities and cultures
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to execute time-sensitive projects successfully
  • Evidence of superior interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences of various knowledge levels and backgrounds
  • Evidence of innovation and initiative in prior work, including the ability to propose and implement strategies to support organizational priorities
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S.

Digital Marketing Specialist

The Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position responsible for implementing the digital marketing strategy through email campaigns and marketing automation. This position drives our social media strategy and manages our web presence. The DMS works closely with the entire marketing team as well as across the organization. Education and work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a marketing, communications or related field
  • One to three years of experience in marketing, digital marketing or a related field
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Pardot experience preferred but not required
  • Google Analytics experience preferred but not required

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in Salesforce and Pardot preferred but not required
  • Experience with email marketing best practices, including CAN-SPAM laws and/or hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms such as Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua, Pardot, and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Familiarity with a/B testing, list segmentation, drip and nurture campaigns, and end-to-end campaign management
  • Understanding of building customer journeys designed to retain and convert lead
  • Understanding of Google Analytics, SEO/SEM experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS/PHP/Wordpress ideal

Director, London Global Flagship and England/Wales Programs

The Director, London Global Flagship and England/Wales Programs is responsible for the strategic development and leadership of all IFSA sites in England and Wales: overseeing the team’s day-to-day program administration; providing academic and cultural support to students; relationship management with host universities and other partners; and overseeing the development and evolution of academic curriculum, and co-curriculum. The Director has additional responsibility for our Global Flagship Site Strategy, planning and execution. This position works closely with the U.S. based Program Management and Development and Academic Affairs teams; other England and Wales staff; and other Global Flagship leaders on all aspects of program management. Based in London, England, the Director reports to the Vice President, Program Management and Development.

Requirements, Education and Work Experience

  • Advanced degree required; terminal degree preferred
  • At least five years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Minimum of ten years of progressively-responsible higher education administration experience; study abroad industry experience preferred
  • At least three years of work experience in the UK
  • Experience working with instructors as well as working with and/or teaching postsecondary education students
  • Curriculum development experience; deep knowledge of higher education systems and environments
  • Evidence of superior interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences of various knowledge levels, cultures and  backgrounds Evidence of innovation and initiative in prior work, including the ability to propose and implement strategies to support organizational priorities
  • Must have legal right to work in England

Resident Director, Cuba

The Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA) seeks an experienced educator to serve as Resident Director (RD) for our Cuba programs. This individual provides leadership and direction for our varied operations in Cuba that align with the organization’s strategic vision, including its commitments to diversity and inclusion, intercultural learning, and enhancing the outcomes of education abroad experiences. Based in Havana, this position addresses institutional relationship building, student mentorship, administrative tasks, and more, with diplomacy, flexibility, resourcefulness, and strong attention to detail. Education and work Experience:

  • Master’s degree preferred; will consider Bachelor’s degree combined with commensurate experience
  • Demonstrated track record with education program development, management, and improvement

Program Assistant

The Program Assistant is a part-time, fixed-term position through June 2019 Based in Indianapolis at the IFSA office, Working 15-19 hours per week, this role will provide support to the Program Management and Development team through administrative operations essential to the management of existing programs and development of new offerings. Routine tasks and checklists are integral responsibilities, as are juggling competing priorities and pivoting to resolve problems as they arise. Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years in administrative or data-focuses role
