Courses

You will select a combination of five courses from the following:

  • One or two studio courses in a core discipline (drawing, painting, sculpture, photography)
  • One or two interdisciplinary studio courses (such as Mixed Media, Art in Context, Art and Ecology, Performance and Time Arts)
  • At least one liberal arts course (Irish Studies, Art History and Creative Writing). 
Please review all your syllabi and course materials when you are registering for classes (both pre-arrival and on-site). Certain classes may have a one-off lab or field trip fee that is disclosed in the syllabus or first meeting of class. You will be responsible for these fees, whether they are billed and paid by IFSA-Butler or billed to you.
Transcripts
After you return to the U.S., IFSA-Butler will send a Butler University transcript to your home university and to your permanent address. The transcript reflects the courses taken, credits attempted, and grades earned during your term abroad. This service is included in your study abroad program at no additional cost

Details
Students will be housed in self-catered cottages convenient to the college and village of Ballyvaughan. These cottages have fully equipped kitchens with oven, microwave, dishwasher and laundry facilities. Each house has three to four bedrooms, with students sharing rooms. Bedding is provided and consists of a duvet (comforter), pillows and two sets of bed linens. No towels are provided.
