The world is rapidly changing. How do you keep up? By continuously learning. Learning to be self-aware, empathetic, inclusive and interculturally agile. Studying abroad helps develop the skills needed to succeed in a global environment, and I take pride in working with my colleagues around the world to provide students with opportunities to develop these skills every day.
Jonathan earned his master's degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago with dual concentrations in Spatial Planning and Design and Globalization and International Planning. During graduate school, Jonathan spent a year in New Delhi as a David L. Boren Fellow studying Hindi and completing his master's research on urban development in the National Capital Region (NCR) prior to the Commonwealth Games.
Jonathan has traveled to more than 20 countries, many of them multiple times (he's been to India 15 times!). He believes stepping outside of his world on a regular basis, whether at home or abroad, keeps him in check and connected to others.
