I am passionate about the growing need for young people to understand the world and the people who live in it. Working with students is my favorite thing about being at IFSA-Butler because I get to hear about their varying ideas of how study abroad can be of value to their lives and futures.

Education

Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Butler University with a bachelor's degree in both Spanish and Middle/Secondary Education.

Travel Experience

Before I studied abroad in Costa Rica with IFSA-Butler, my plan was to be a Spanish teacher. By the time I finished orientation on site, I realized how much I wanted to do for other college students what my IFSA program advisor had done for me by getting me to that point. It was an important step in building me up into the person I have become. My future mission was altered a bit from that moment on, and I'm still enormously pleased with my change in trajectory!

Did You Know?

Michelle played with the Indianapolis Symphonic Band (French horn) for a couple of years. She's also a distant relative of Tom Hanks but couldn't get him to come to her wedding.
